Hi friends! This blog post is particularly close to my heart. The mural was completed by members of the non-profit organization Arts of Life, which is dedicated to incorporating art and music into the daily lives of adults with developmental disabilities. I volunteered for AoL for a good part of 2012, and I can personally vouch for the fact that they improve the community and increase the quality of life for many individuals. This blog is located in Bucktown, and it is a part of a larger, community-based and city sponsored mural project spanning several city blocks. Despite the somewhat dreary day that these photographs were taken, accidentally stumbling across this mural put a giant smile on my face. Happy Spring!
